Alex Lenferna

My name is Georges Alexandre (Alex) Lenferna, I am a South African Fulbright Scholar pursuing my PhD at the University of Washington based in the Philosophy Department. Before coming to UW I was a research associate at the IGERT C-CHANGE Interdisciplinary Climate Change Research Unit at the University of Kansas. Combining insights from the two areas, I focus on issues of climate change, global justice, poverty and inequality. Outside of the 'ivory tower', I am a leader of Confronting Climate Change, a Seattle based group dedicated to the fight for climate justice. We engage policy makers; educate members of the public; and organize the public for direct grassroots action. I am also a volunteer with the Citizens Climate Lobby where I push for equitable, effective and ambitious US national climate legislation.
