I am Hayate Shimizu, a PhD student at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Hokkaido University. My research focuses on Kantian ethics, with a particular emphasis on the concept of virtue and rational feelings. I aim to explore how Kant's ethical framework can address contemporary ethical challenges, especially those involving non-human entities such as animals and robots. In addition to my work in Kantian ethics, I engage with interdisciplinary research on the ethical implications of artificial intelligence and robotics.
