La población saharaui sigue sufriendo hoy en día las consecuencias de un proceso de descolonización fallido, dividida entre los Territorios Ocupados por Marruecos, los Campamentos de refugiados de Tinduf y la diáspora, radicada sobre todo en España. Desde 1975 sus dirigentes han tratado de crear una sociedad moderna, y esa es la imagen que se proyecta al exterior: la de una sociedad que ha superado su pasado tribal y jerárquico y que ha conseguido integrar a sus mujeres y sus minorías raciales en una ciudadanía plena, en igualdad de condiciones con la población masculina bidan (blanca), que antaño concentraba todo el protagonismo y poder. Sin embargo, más allá de esa conocida imagen siguen pesando las pautas culturales tradicionales, tan difíciles de modificar. Estas tradiciones entorpecen la igualdad real de las mujeres y su incorporación al trabajo, penalizan su independencia y siguen ligando su dignidad a lo que se considera el “honor” de la familia. Por su parte los afro saharauis, descendientes de los antiguos esclavos, siguen luchando todavía contra cierto racismo incrustado en la vida cotidiana ya que, a pesar de las proclamas oficiales, en el siglo XXI aún perviven costumbres que les discriminan. En este artículo quiero ofrecer un análisis crítico de la sociedad saharaui centrado en la situación real de las mujeres y los afrosaharauis. Pasaré revista a los obstáculos legales y a las costumbres y estereotipos que aún deben superar, encarnados en las tradiciones de la época tribal, y mostraré cuales son los movimientos reivindicativos que estan surgiendo para luchar por su emancipación.

La lectura de mapas es una competencia pendiente para los estudiantes universitarios. Es el caso de los del Grado en Turismo de las universidades de Las Palmas de G.C., en España, y Autónoma de Juárez, en México, que usan los mapas para la comprensión de la realidad turística sin que hayan adquirido una alfabetización cartográfica suficiente.Esta comunicación presenta un diagnóstico del pensamiento geográfico de este alumnado centrado en las capacidades de localización, interpretación y análisis relacional de variables territoriales. Se ha corroborado que solo alcanzan un nivel descriptivo y que es necesario poner en macha estrategias didácticas específicas.

We report a scanning tunnelling microscopy investigation of the emission of dislocations around nanoindentations in the form of dislocation arrangements previously called hillocks, consisting of two pairs of Shockley partial dislocations, each encompassing a stacking fault. The spatial arrangement and size distribution of hillocks around the nanoindentation traces are studied. We show that standard dislocation theory for an isotropic continuum can be used to describe the stability of the hillocks, their size and spatial distribution and the broadening of the corresponding extended dislocations near the surface. A model is proposed in which hillocks originate from the split into dislocations partials of primary perfect dislocation loops punched into the crystal by the scanning tunnelling microscope tip. This model implies the operation of a novel dislocation mechanism involving long-range transport of matter across the surface.

This paper explores the fundamental theses of the capabilities approach and differentiates it from notions of development that are more focused on the generation of wealth and growth. The paper emphasizes the importance of action in the development of life projects and describes the importance of emancipation in exercising freedoms. It then describes the education challenges from the perspective of the capabilities approach. It situates the importance of this approach in the Latin American context, where freedom is closely linked to the pursuit of social justice. Finally, it describes the different areas of application of the capabilities approach in education and points out the limitations of formal education in the contemporary world.
