Oğuz Karayemiş is an independent philosopher and writer based in Turkey, working at the intersection of Marxist theory and new materialist philosophy. He is the author of the multi-volume project Ecology and Economy, whose first volume, Capital's Enterprises and the Obduracy of the Earth, develops a synthesis of Marxism and new materialism through concepts including eco-originary accumulation and the "Gaiasen" conceptualization of the climate crisis. His current work engages posthumanist theories of the image, schizoanalysis, and the theory of value.
