Sergio Volodia Marcello Cremaschi

Sergio Volodia Marcello Cremaschi (Bergamo, Feb 17 1949) was educated at the Classical Gymnasium' Paolo Sarpi', Bergamo and the Catholic University, Milan, where he graduated in Philosophy in 1971. He spent two years in Mogadishu, Somalia, as a teacher at a preparatory school. He served as a Research Fellow at the Catholic University and Venice University, a Senior Lecturer at the Catholic University, a Reader of Philosophy of Religion at Ferrara University, of Moral Philosophy at Turin University and then at the 'Amedeo Avogadro' University at Vercelli until retirement in 2014. He was a visiting professor at the New School for Social Research, New York and at the LUISS, Rome, a visiting scholar at Nuffield College, Oxford, the Faculty of Education at Aarhus University, Denmark, the Institute for Advanced Studies at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and an Erasmus lecturer at the Universities of La Laguna, Sevilla and Córdoba. He translated philosophy extensively from German, English, French and Spanish and edited the Economics and Philosophy section of the 'Enciclopedia Filosofica', Bompiani, 2006.
