I trained in philosophy at the CUNY Graduate Center, writing a dissertation on Gricean models for black speech with Frank Kirkland and Steve Schiffer.

I am Associate Professor of Philosophy and I direct the Laboratory for Research in the Logical Sciences, all at William Paterson University of New Jersey. (I was previously at Howard University.)

My research follows four tracks: (1) proof theory (in mathematical logic); (2) geometry and classical groups (in algebraic geometry); (3) syntax/semantic interface phenomena (in philosophy of language); and (4) moral rationality in slavery and segregation contexts (in African-American philosophy).
