Thomas Grundmann

I am a philosopher specializing in epistemology, philosophy of science, and metaphilosophy. I have worked extensively on problems of skepticism, a priori knowledge, thought experiments, philosophical methodology, and metaepistemological questions. In recent years, my research interests have increasingly shifted toward issues in social and applied epistemology. In addition to the epistemology of disagreement, I investigate topics such as fake news and disinformation, the epistemic authority of scientific experts, as well as trust and science communication. More recently, I started a project on the interplay between epistemic autonomy and epistemic dependence in the classroom. A further project will address the epistemology of journalism.
