El presente trabajo intenta, a partir de la revi sión de las obras fundamentales de Jean Baudrillard, dar cuenta del origen de la personalidad narcisista, que no conoce límites entre ella misma y el mundo que exige la gratificación inmediata de sus deseos, así como la erosión de la vida intima tenida lugar en la sociedad del espectáculo. El American way of life aparecerá caracterizado como el imperio de la seducción y de la obsolescencia decretada; un sistema que rinde culto al fetiche de la mercancía y la pornografíadelainformación.Finalmente,sebuscarádar cuentadecómoelconsumonoes,enabsoluto, la base sobre la que descansa el progreso, sino más bien la barrera que lo estanca o, al menos, lo lanza en la dirección contraria a la de la mejora de las relaciones sociales.

The aim of this paper is to analyze Leibniz’s metaphysical theory of personal identity and to engage with the debate initiated by Margaret D. Wilson, whose interpretation has significantly shaped contemporary scholarship. According to her reading, Leibniz would incur an inconsistency by simultaneously maintaining that we are immaterial substances and that a personal identity without substantiality would be possible. This article argues that such an interpretation rests on a misunderstanding of Leibniz’s sources. To this end, the two allegedly inconsistent theses are examined through an exposition of Locke’s theory of personal identity and of Leibniz’s response to it. In conclusion, it is argued that Leibniz’s concessions to Locke must be understood as rhetorical rather than systematic commitments: to admit the mere logical possibility of an apparent identity without substance does not amount to acknowledging its metaphysical possibility, since this would imply denying the rational order of the world, grounded in the principles of rationality.

En este artículo se analiza el De bello Navariensi de Antonio de Nebrija como una traducción cultural de la Historia de la conquista del Reino de Navarra de Luis Correa. Se argumenta que Nebrija, más allá de traducir, adaptó y enriqueció el texto original con argumentos jurídicos, teológicos, históricos y geográficos para justificar la anexión de Navarra a Castilla ante un público europeo. El estudio destaca las diferencias entre ambos autores: Correa buscaba exaltar gestas militares, mientras que Nebrija pretendía legitimar la conquista desde un marco escolástico y humanista, integrando saberes diversos para consolidar la narrativa oficial de la Corona hispánica.

ABSTRACT This article examines the rural mosque recently excavated in the archaeological site of La Graja (Higueruela, Albacete). This is a very important find from a historical point of view, since there is little archaeological evidence for this type of building despite the fact that many examples must have existed in al-Andalus. This congregational mosque served the inhabitants of an Andalusi village (Ar. qarya) and other small hamlets in its vicinity. It was built in the early eleventh century ce and abandoned, along with the rest of the settlement, towards the end of the century. Owing to its good state of preservation, its constructive characteristics and architectural plan could be analysed in detail. The most interesting aspect of this find was, however, that it was possible to study the mosque in the spatial context of the village as a whole. This reveals aspects of urban planning at the time of the mosque’s construction and, therefore, the social structure of the group of founding settlers. The excavation also provided relevant data about the uses of the space around the prayer hall and how its presence affected the evolution of the urban layout of the village.

This paper is concerned with the ancient discussion on privative negation (e.g., 'unjust') and infinite negation (e.g., 'not-just'). We formalize and compare the positions of Aristotle and Alexander of Aphrodisias, of Proclus and Ammonius Hermiae, and of Porphyry (as presented by Boethius). Each of these formalizations takes the form of a logical system, which is intended to capture the main tenets of the position it formalizes. As an additional point of reference, we also discuss the system of contemporary, Boolean predicate logic. Our comparison focuses on the diagrams that each position gives rise to, and we show how our formalizations provide a unified and systematic perspective on these diagrams. In particular, we argue that the ancient discussion on privative and infinite negation can be understood through the lens of the so-called 'logic-sensitivity' of Aristotelian diagrams. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.

Event‐related brain potentials were recorded while subjects listened to sentences containing a controlled infinitival complement. Subject and object control items were used, both with 2 potential antecedents in the upper clause. Half of the sentences had a gender agreement violation between the null subject of the infinitival complement and an adjective predicated of it. The rapid detection of this anomaly would indicate that the parser had established the coreference relation between the null subject and an antecedent, and that the processor had rapidly consulted verb control information to select the proper antecedent of the null subject. The results showed that for both subject and object control items ungrammatical adjectives elicited a P600 effect. These data imply that the processor has coindexed the null subject with an antecedent, and that the antecedent has been selected on the basis of control information. These results are compatible with parsing models that emphasize the rapid influence of verb‐specific information on sentence processing.

There are 2 main problems with the current periodic table: artificial breaks from a given noble gas to the next alkali metal (along with the common protrusion of the “f” block) and hydrogen placed in the alkali group, although this gas also exhibits halogen properties. This paper proposes arranging chemical elements in a square spiral with hydrogen at the centre. This element is also above lithium but passes above fluorine to connect with helium, representing its dual alkali and halogen nature effectively. Then the spiral moves outwards in a counter-clockwise direction, avoiding artificial breaks and following the natural direction of reading for the “s” and “p” blocks elements placed at the bottom of the spiral. Furthermore, this proposed square spiral improves upon previous Janet´s and Benfey´s representations with a more regular shape to draw, an effective depiction of the dual nature of hydrogen, and easily identifiable orbital blocks without the need for protrusions.

Este artículo trata de cumplir con dos objetivos. El primero de ellos muestra un panorama completo de las investigaciones realizadas sobre la opción de María Zambrano por México y sobre su estancia en Morelia, corrigiendo algunos tópicos que se habían convertido en lugares comunes. El segundo contribuye a mostrar las aportaciones fundamentales de nuestra pensadora en este periodo fundacional de su exilio cuando realizó un profundo análisis de la razón moderna y de su necesaria revisión para que contribuyera a una convivencia ajena a las exclusiones como la padecida por los propios exiliados. Se ofrecen las intervenciones de un grupo de alumnos y alumnas, mayormente estudiantes de Grado en Filosofía, que repasan algunas de las obras de Gustavo Bueno, ofreciendo resúmenes y análisis de utilidad para acercarse a la obra del filósofo astur-riojano. Todas ellas fueron expuestas en el primer coloquio de las Jornadas de Homenaje a Gustavo Bueno en el Centenario de su Nacimiento, cuyo título fue: «Repaso sobre algunas de las obras de Gustavo Bueno». Figuran comentarios sobre: «Reliquias y relatos» (1978), El sentido de la vida (1996), el dialelo antropológico, Etnología y utopía (1987), ¿Qué es la filosofía? (1995) o El animal divino (1985) y la esencia procesual.

El abstencionismo político propugnado por Descartes guarda relación con su biografía, sus concepciones de verdad y certeza y su marcada distinción entre saberes especulativos y saberes prácticos. Rechazando la perspectiva anacrónica que ofrece Negri de un Descartes considerado como pionero de los ideales burgueses de autonomía y productividad, en este artículo interpretamos las máximas prudenciales de acción cartesiana como un correlato necesario del concepto moderno de soberanía. Destacamos asimismo la afinidad que su moral provisional guarda con los preceptos que libertinos como Charron habían recomendado adoptar a aquel que pretendiera vivir en sociedad sin sobresaltos. La afinidad no es total, en la medida en la que la metafísica cartesiana constituye una respuesta teológico-política al planteamiento escéptico según el cual el ateísmo es compatible con el orden político.
